UBC’s largest ever delegation of 12 faculty members and students will participate in person and virtually in the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) being held in Baku, Azerbaijan this month.This event brings together countries, civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to accelerate action. UBC holds “Official Observer” status and is allocated a set number of ‘badges’ that provide access to the negotiations and events.

Despite the diversity of UBC’s 300-plus formal international partnerships, collaborations with the Global South are underrepresented.UBC Vancouver faculty can apply for funding to initiate or deepen collaboration with partners in the Global South.
